This will be my second year at Paris Junior High School (PJHS). Prior to coming to PJHS, I taught Algebra 1 and 8th grade math for four years at Spanish Fort Middle School (SFMS). Prior to SFMS, I taught math for three years at LeFLore Magnet High School in Mobile, AL. While at LeFlore I taught both Algebra I and Geometry. Although I have only been teaching for eight years, I have plenty of real world mathematics experiences to share with students.
After high school I became a Mortarman in the United States Army. I served twelve years in the military, mostly in the Reserves. While in the Reserves I obtained my degree in drafting and spent eight years working for engineering firms in Iowa, Missouri and Georgia. I became a stay at home parent when my wife and I had our first child. I worked as an independent contractor from home doing drafting as well as home mortgage loan processing.
When both my sons started school, I signed up to substitute teach and during this experience I realized I had a passion for teaching math. I went back to college in 2005 and received my teaching degree in 2008.
