Paris High Class of 1973 picture
I am beginning my nineth year with Paris Independent School District. This is my 19th year to teach. I was with Round Rock ISD previously.
I am a graduate of Paris High School (1973). I graduated from Paris Junior College with an A.S. in Law Enforcement. I am a graduate of East Texas State University (now A&M at Commerce). I have a B.S. in Criminology. I am a former Paris Police Officer, probation and parole officer, and worked with victims of violent crime.
After having worked in the criminal justice field for 25 years, I made a career change. I decided education was where I needed to be. I received my certification through Region 13. I am certified PreK - 12 in Special Education. I am also certified grades 4-8 in Social Studies, English Language Arts, and Reading. I am beginning my sixth year with PISD. I taught one year at P.A.S.S., one year at Crockett Middle School and five years at PJH. I currently teach 8th grade U.S. History and am the head coach for 7th/8th grade cheer.
I married my high school sweetheart, Del "Dub". He also is a PHS graduate (1972). He is retired from the State of Texas. We have one son, Paul, who is 27 years of age. He is recently graduated in May, 2014, from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He just celebrated his fifth year anniversary on August 14, 2014, to a wonderful young woman, Kristen. We are VERY proud of him and her. They moved in June 2014, to Louisville, Kentucky, for him to continue his education at Southern Seminary. He will be a first year teacher teaching 6th grade at Highland Latin Academy. His wife just graduated from Liberty University and is employed at the Kentucky Baptist Convention with disaster relief.
I am excited to be back home after being away for 16 years. I believe in all students and believe any student is capable of being successful. I believe that students should "own" their education and make everyday day a GREAT one!
My students as every student at PJH are special students. We are loud and proud of our students. Let's have a great year!!!!
