About Me

Educational History:

My high school alma mater is Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton, Mississippi. I attended Itawamba Community College, which is also located in Fulton, for two years before obtaining my bachelor's degree at Mississippi State University (GO BULLDOGS!).

I completed the alternative certification program at Texas A&M University-Commerce after spending more than five years as a sports reporter/editor at The Paris News.

Degrees and Certifications:

I have a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University.

I am certified to teach English/language arts and reading for grades 7-12.

Professional Development:

I complete many hours of professional development each year, primarily in areas pertaining to writing, Future Problem Solving, and techniques of teaching Gifted and Talented students.

Current Position:

This is my fourth year at Paris Junior High, and I'm excited about the opportunity to once again teach seventh grade SAA/ACC English language arts and reading! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. My sincere goal is to help my students in any way I can.

Previous Position:

I spent six years as a sports reporter and editor at The Paris News. I try to apply that experience in the classroom as often as I can.

Family Information:

I am married, and we have a 4-year-old daughter and newborn son.

Personal Information:

As you can tell from my previous occupation, I love sports! I like a lot of different sports, such as professional and college football, baseball, basketball, and soccer.
