I am a proud alumna of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, home of the Bobcats. I received my Bachelor’s degree for Journalism and aimed to pursue television sports reporting. Then, I discovered the written word is my calling.
I began teaching at Paris Junior High in August 2018, and this is my first year with the district. I am thankful to be surrounded by so many knowledgeable, caring people who are committed to student and teacher success. I teach 7th grade Language Arts (Writing).
After graduating from college, I wrote sports for the Prosper (TX) Press, the Dallas Morning News, the Hugo (OK) News, and The Paris News. I attended Texas A&M-Commerce for my alternative certification. I spent my first year teaching 6th grade Reading and Writing at Detroit Middle School (TX) in the 2017-18 school year. I learned so much from my students, and I am excited to put that knowledge to work this year.
I am married. I have one dog, a miniature schnauzer named Otto. He is 2 ½ years old, and he is spoiled rotten!
I enjoy spending time with family, walking my dog, reading, watching sports, and listening to music. I am an avid sports fan, particularly football, baseball, and soccer.
